GLASS REPAIR SERVICE >>

^GLASS REPAIR Service >>

Its Important a NEW Stove glass is fitted correctly!

It could well break if not!

If you do not fit your new stove glass correctly, there is a high chance it will crack, if not immediately, before its normal life expectancy.

We strongly advise you fit the glass correctly.  Whilst we only service doors for customers who can PERSONALLY drop the old door to us and collect the new door (rather than using couriers), we have listed below the process we use for a successful stove door refurbishment & also have a BLOG of information on 'how to replace your stove glass'

Refurbishment Service

THIS SERVICE IS TEMPORARILY STOPPED / ON HOLD DUE TO BEING OUR BUSY WINTER PERIOD FOR SPARES - WE APOLOGISE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

If you wish us to refurbish your door, costs do vary depending on; your appliance make / model and condition of the current glasses & door(s). We would give you a 'maximum' quote based off seeing photographs or the door itself.

A guideline to costs would be....

(1)  Labour will vary between £80 to £100 (inc VAT) for ONE door (price depends on serverity of work require).  IF your appliance has two doors, then second door Labour Charge will be done for £40 (inc VAT).  The Labour Charge also includes any extra materials required: Spray Paints, Copper Slip, Releasing Oil, Tools used such as Grinding Wheels, Taps etc.  The price of the  Labour Charge can vary as stated as some doors can be delivered to us in very poor condition (as been poorly maintained), others are much easier to replace the glass as have been better maintained throughout their life.  One of the more time consuming jobs (whether the stove has been maintained well or not) is to 'drill & retap' the glass retaining screw holes as these most often shear off.

(2)  Parts will vary, however, we can give a good estimate in relation to REQUIRED PARTS when we see the stove door.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS SERVICE IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO CAN DROP OFF AND COLLECT DOORS THEMSELVES.  WE DO NOT SEND IN THE POST OR BY COURIER....

Stove Door Glass Replacement Service Includes:

1 - You  DROP OFF PERSONALLY your STOVE DOOR(S) to our Office in Atherstone (CV9 1AE)

2 - WE THEN ....Remove old damaged / undamaged glass, soot, rust & fire rope from inside of door by either sand blasting, power sanding, grinding or electric wire brushing. (Nb. important good finish as build up of rust is a major cause of glass breaking, as rust expands / worsens it can crack the glass, this can happen when the stove is NOT in use (in summer) and in winter when the door expands against the glass).

3 - Drill and re thread (tap) any 'glass retainer' bolts that may have sheared off - due to rust (this is a common problem, if you have already started / tried to replace your glasses and these bolts have sheared off - do not worry, send your door to us!)

4 - Treat inside of Door with 'RUST KUR' and then Spray inside of door with 'high temperature resistant' paint. (this treatment slows down the build up of rust in the future and potentially lengthens the life of the glasses)

5 - Fit new 'Heat Resistant Glass' and 'Heat Resistant Seals'

6 - Where necessary, replace 'Glass Retaining Bars', 'Fixing Clips' and 'Washers'.

7 - Replace for NEW all 'Glass Retaining Bolts (using copper slip to facilitate future remove)

8 - If Door fitted with 'Ceramic Door Sealing Rope' - then new replacement fitted

9 - Grease 'Hinge Pins', 'Latch', 'Spin Wheel' etc: with copper slip.  (a special heat resistant grease)
