My sweep had mentioned vermiculite fire bricks that could "easily" be cut to size, but that's way beyond my comfort zone. What a relief to find the exact bricks for this old, discontinued stove, in stock and reasonably priced - it has a new lease of life.

The glass arrived sooner than expected and was well protected in a clever cardboard case lined with bubblewrap.

Just a sheet of glass, really, but it was the right dimensions to fit the slot nicely. It seemed very expensive for a rectangular pane of glass but I guess it’s a special heat-resistant type. I will be more careful closing the door against the sharp corners of logs as I don’t want to be buying too many of these.

I ordered the same part over 10 years ago and was amazed it was only £1 dearer! Ordering was easy (I had kept the details from previous order that the staff had been very helpful to ensure I bought the correct item) delivery was fast, product very well packed and exactly what I needed. Strong, well made. To be honest when I took the old one out it didn't need replacing but I now have both in place to stop larger pieces of coal falling through! Excellent product, excellent company!
