Replacement Stove Door & Glass Ceramic Rope. Rope is required as a heat resistant seal between the glass and door. It is important to replace the Stove Rope when replacing the Glass.
Old Stove Rope becomes hard and brittle and has does not cushion or provide an effective air tight seal between the glass and the door. To ensure your new glass lasts as long as possible, replacing the Stove Rope is strongly recommended.
Rope thickness ranges from 3mm to 22mm. To replace the glass rope, most stoves would use either 3mm or 6mm diametre rope. Depending on the stove make, Sealing Tape or Ladder Braid may be a good option.
Ceramic Rope Seal can also be used to seal flue pipe connections and act as a door seal between the stove body and door. These would usually be larger sizes from 9mm to 16mm.
