Replacement Stove Rope for Doors & Glasses. Rope is required as a heat resistant seal between the glass and door, and the door and the frame of the fire. It is important to replace the Stove Rope when replacing the Glass.
Old Stove Rope becomes hard and brittle and does not cushion or provide an effective air tight seal between the glass and the door. To ensure your new glass lasts as long as possible, replacing the Stove Rope is strongly recommended.
Rope thickness ranges from 3mm to 25mm. To replace the glass rope, most stoves would use either 3mm or 6mm diametre rope. Depending on the stove make, Glass Channel Sealing Tape (Self Adhesive Ladder Tape) may be a good option.
Ceramic Stove Rope Seal can also be used to seal flue pipe connections and act as a door seal between the stove body and door. These would usually be larger sizes from 9mm to 20mm.
