The Parkray Throat Plate sits directly above the flames and acts as a 'deflector' of heat, reducing the actual heat emission up the chimney. Thus the Throat Plate increases efficiency of the Appliance. The 'Throat Plate' can also be called 'Baffle Plate' or 'Flue Restrictor'.
