Excellent service during a difficult time (coronavirus). I was kept up to date with preparations for delivery and the item arrived exactly when pre-notified.

A good product difficult to source through most hardware outlets. It could be further improved by the availability (as an optional extra) of a handle extension that would make it easier to slide it into position under the fireplace. I made such an extension myself for my previous ashbox, and will do so again, but it is not very easy because of the need to drill screw holes through the metal.

The glass arrived sooner than expected and was well protected in a clever cardboard case lined with bubblewrap.

Just a sheet of glass, really, but it was the right dimensions to fit the slot nicely. It seemed very expensive for a rectangular pane of glass but I guess it’s a special heat-resistant type. I will be more careful closing the door against the sharp corners of logs as I don’t want to be buying too many of these.
