The board was installed as a back board for an open fireplace containing a grate. It cracked within 2 weeks of first use and has now become completely use having cracked in many directions across the middle of the board. I would appreciate some feedback as why this may have happened and replacement board of the product is faulty. Thanks.

The coal saver fire bricks are some of the most reasonably priced you can find, there was a good selection of sizes to choose from. The bricks were well packaged against possible damage in transit.
